Seattle – City Video Guide
Seattle, on the coast between Puget Sound and Lake Washington is one of North America’s most beautiful cities.
In Downtown Seattle, you will discover some of the city’s oldest buildings around Pioneer Square. The Seattle Waterfront is famous for its seafood restaurants and pleasure cruises, and it’s a short, steep climb to Pike Place Market.
A short drive north from downtown brings you to Woodland Park Zoo, the Seattle Museum of Flight, or Lake Union.
The Seattle Center is home to the Pacific Science Center and the popular International Fountain, as well as Seattle’s most recognized landmark, the Space Needle. On a clear day, the observation deck at the top offers views as far as Mount Rainier.
Meanwhile Kerry Park on the south side of Queen Anne Hill offers a great view of Seattle and the Space Needle itself, which is particularly impressive when the sun goes down.

Washington DC 4K – Sunset Drive
Sunset drive on the way to my hotel in Washington DC, the capital of the USA. Video starts in Arlington, passes through Georgetown, by the White House, and ends by the United States Capitol Building. Enjoy the quiet of these cities while you can! Once domestic and international tourism start again, I think the first year will be very very busy.
Starting Point: https://goo.gl/maps/QYHbdLMNUrBRPAHTA .
Washington, DC, the U.S. capital, is a compact city on the Potomac River, bordering the states of Maryland and Virginia. It’s defined by imposing neoclassical monuments and buildings – including the iconic ones that house the federal government’s 3 branches: the Capitol, White House and Supreme Court. It’s also home to iconic museums and performingarts venues such as the Kennedy Center.
Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and also known as D.C. or just Washington, is the capital city of the United States of America. It is located on the Potomac River bordering Maryland and Virginia, with Congress holding its first session there in 1800. The city was named for George Washington, the first president of the United States and a Founding Father, and the federal district is named after Columbia, a female personification of the nation. As the seat of the U.S. federal government and several international organizations, the city is an important world political capital. It is one of the most visited cities in the U.S., with over 20 million visitors in 2016.
The three branches of the U.S. federal government are centered in the district: Congress (legislative), the president (executive), and the Supreme Court (judicial). Washington is home to many national monuments and museums, primarily situated on or around the National Mall. The city hosts 177 foreign embassies as well as the headquarters of many international organizations, trade unions, nonprofits, lobbying groups, and professional associations, including the World Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization of American States, the AARP, the National Geographic Society, the Human Rights Campaign, the International Finance Corporation, and the American Red Cross.
The City of Washington was founded in 1791 to serve as the national capital. In 1801, the land, formerly part of Maryland and Virginia (including the settlements of Georgetown and Alexandria), officially became recognized as the federal district. In 1846, Congress returned the land originally ceded by Virginia, including the city of Alexandria; in 1871, it created a single municipal government for the remaining portion of the district.
The city is divided into quadrants centered on the Capitol Building, and there are as many as 131 neighborhoods. The estimated population of 705,749 as of July 2019, makes it the 20thmost populous city in the U.S. and gives it a population larger than that of two U.S. states. Commuters from the surrounding Maryland and Virginia suburbs raise the city’s daytime population to more than one million during the workweek. Washington’s metropolitan area, the country’s sixthlargest (including parts of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia), had a 2017 estimated population of 6.2 million residents.
A locally elected mayor and a 13member council have governed the district since 1973. Congress maintains supreme authority over the city and may overturn local laws. D.C. residents elect a nonvoting, atlarge congressional delegate to the House of Representatives, but the district has no representation in the Senate. District voters choose three presidential electors in accordance with the Twentythird Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified in 1961.
Seattle Central District 23rd \u0026 Union Fall 2021 | Walking Seattle | Coffee \u0026 Doughnuts
As many of you may already know, many of my videos are in walking tour style, and this video is not exception. This is a walking tour of the 23rd and Union area of the Central District (aka CD) neighborhood of Seattle.
The walk begins at Squirrel Chops and circles a few blocks with a stop at Raised Donuts at halftime. I share updates and discuss coffee shops (which there’s 5 coffee shops in this 3 block vicinity!) and take you through a autumn tree lined residential street in this neighborhood.
