  1. Hi, so I have a 32 channel modem, i noticed that channels 25-27 build up alot of uncorrectables in the morning and the power goes up around +8 dBmV on all three of them and when this happens my modem stalls for a few seconds causing my router to lose internet connection and disconnects all my devices for a minute. This happens 2 times a day, one in the morning, one in the evening.

    My question is, if I buy a 16×4 modem, will this problem go away, since these uncorrectables always occur on channels 24+ ?

  2. Coaxial cable is very likely to cause problems if it has been kinked, nicked or squashed. Never put sharp bends in it and be careful not to pinch it when using clips or staples. I personally try to avoid the newer CCS coax (copper coated steel) and try getting a solid copper core coax for the main modem input. Moisture getting in the connectors outdoors can cause problems too. Another thing to check is the power supply for correct and steady voltage with a voltmeter. Thoughts and prayers ain't gonna fix your internet 0_o

  3. And if you screw it up then you will create problems not even netgear can help you. Always get the gearhead plan and let them fix it. This is one issue and one way to resolve it without any complications taken as factor

  4. I’ve replaced my coax cable but the upstream light is still flashing. I have lots of different numbers in the correctable and uncorrectable section of the downstream channel. I also have 3 channels that are not locked for the upstream bonded channels. I have the c7000v2 modem router and it has 24 downstream and 8 upstream channels which is supposed to be the best I guess (idk I’m not a wiz at this shit) And I’ve been having this problem for over 2 weeks. I feel like I can fix it from the netgear genie site I’m on but I have no ideas what all these channels and numbers mean. If anyone could help with this it’d be much appreciated.

  5. I have a similar problem, but different. That looks like the same modem/router that I have, but, the problem I'm having is that I have some Wi-fi devices and a desktop computer. The desktop is connected by ethernet, everything ese is Wi-fi. My desktop suddenly stopped accessing the internet. I thought maybe I bumped one of the controls on the modem, but cycling those only affected the Wi-fi devices. I hadn't had a problem with Wi-fi, work connection.by he way, only the ethernet. I tried replacing the ethernet cable, but, when I disconnected the ethernet cable from the modem, my desktop immediately told me it had lost its network connection. When I connected the new cable, my desktop told me it had a network connection, but still no internet. So, I know that I don't have a problem with internet getting to the modem, and I know that there's not a problem with the ethernet cable, but, for some reason, the modem/router is not routing internet to my desktop. I can even look at netgear genie from a wireless device and "see" my desktop there, but still no internet. Anybody have any ideas?

  6. It can also be an old splitter under the house, too many splitters, or the cable drop from the telephone pole to the house. I noticed if I unscrewed the cable from the modem and screwed it back in, the connection returned (for a few weeks). That's how I tracked it down. In your case though, a 3 year old cable is still new unless it's been yanked on for some reason.
