There are est 80 million Chinese on SS or VPNs, universities, media firms n many companies have vpn access, legality is technically not a problem so long as you don’t subvert. The wall serves some positive points as some western media are quite toxic, for a newly developed country it’s quite necessary. The general idea is that when Chinese media becomes strong enough and people able to withstand influences China will gradually open up internet.

I've been trying to set up the thing and end up destroying the machine after I screw up, I've been following this instructions https://www.linode.com/docs/networking/vpn/create-a-socks5-proxy-server-with-shadowsocks-on-ubuntu-and-centos7/ but I dont know how to solve the "create config file", I seriously have no idea how do it
You better not use default port 8388, or your server will be banned immediately.

Where did the terminal come from, caonima.io says to put commands in the terminal but there's no terminal.
So in Windows this acts more like a proxy for a browser ? It doesn't let you run other programs "on" that foreign IP ?

Following your video at 3:37 I typing "ssserver -m aes-256-cbf -k testing1234 -p 8388 -s 46.101.59.35" The terminal returns "shadowsocks 2.1.0 2018-06-15 05:03:57 ERROR method aes-256-cbf not supported" to me, how should I do?
Why didn't you just set your VPN up to use TSL/SSL/SSH whcih as far as I know makes deep packet inspection not possible.

we live in iran and censorship is like china if not worse.
we use OpenConnect right now, and it works ok; but we have same vpn filtering problems as you mentioned here.
